a long way off
We all know the story of the Prodigal Son and yet each time I hear it something new is revealed. Today I am struck at how the Father sees his son while he is still a long way off.
That is something hard for us to do, isn't it?
To either be the one who is still a long way off, or to love someone who is still a long way off...and to be certain that even from this distance, the Father still sees us.
Today we can be certain that our Father not only sees us...but he runs to us.
He doesn't run because we have got ourselves cleaned up and figured out.
He doesn't run because whatever it is that pulled us apart from him in the first place has been removed, healed or cured.
But He runs while we are still a long way off.
If you are worried that you or your prodigal son is too lost, too far off, to ever be found, think again, my friend. What looks impossible to you is exactly what your Father is running to right now.
